Sephora VIB Sale Haul!

Sephora VIB Sale Haul!

Twice a year, Sephora holds a VIB sale. And, of course, I took advantage. I certainly didn’t need anymore products. But, let’s admit it, I’m a sucker. I did use the sale to get a few things that I buy regularly. Each sale, I get a new bottle of Sunday Riley “Good Genes”. It’s pricey but I enjoy it. I also got some refills of brush heads for my Clarisonic.

I’m happy that I had some sunshine to use to take photos!

The eye shadow palette and highlighter are from Stila Cosmetics. The shadow is called Eyes Are The Window in “Spirit”. This is my second palette from this particular line. I also have the one called “Soul”. I have traveled with “Soul” on business trips. It’s a great neutral work-friendly shade range. I really feel like I am getting my money’s worth out of these shadows. The highlighter is the Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in the shade “Kitten”. If you watch a lot of YouTube videos from beauty gurus, you’d know this is one of those products with a “putty” like texture. I’ve used it a few times already and I am digging it. This isn’t the kind of highlighter that will make you visible to the International Space Station but if you’re like me and wearing this for an everyday, work friendly, look then you may like it as well.

The only hair product I bought was the Olaplex Hair Perfector. I have never used this product or line before so I hope to update on how I get along with it later. I did hear about this product from Dani of CoffeeBreakwithDani on YouTube.

I got another bottle of Sunday Riley Good Genes. The description from the Sephora website is this: “Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment is formulated with high potency, purified grade lactic acid that immediately exfoliates dull, pore-clogging dead skin cells, revealing smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin. Fine lines appear visually plumped while the skin looks more radiant. With continued use, the appearance of stubborn hyperpigmentation and the visible signs of aging are reduced for a healthier-looking complexion. Perfect for all skin types and all ages, this treatment is enhanced with licorice for brightening, Good Genes clarifies, smooths, and retexturizes for instant radiance. ” I get a new bottle at each sale opportunity.

I have seen a lot of positive reviews for the Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm. I thought I’d give it a shot. Also from Clinique I got the Beyond Perfecting Super Concealer. I’m not sure how I feel about the shade. I got Very Fair 04. I used it last night for work and I feel like it may be too light. I’ll try it a few times before I decide. Of course, I can always make it work if I mix it with another product.

From the Sephora brand, I bought the Extra Gentle Bi-Phase Eye makeup Remover. I am almost out of my Clinique eye and lip color remover so I picked this up.

I got the two pack of Clarisonic brush head replacements. That one is pretty self explanatory.

I am really excited to try out the Laneige Eye Sleep Mask. When I use concealer, it’s pretty obvious that my under eyes are showing their age. I am really trying to be diligent in using an eye cream twice a day, every day. I don’t feel like they are dry but the dark circles and find lines are REAL.  Serious panda situation going on. I hope to be able to do a review on this one. I make no promises though.

If there is one item I really  didn’t need, is more body cream. I keep hearing so many wonderful things about the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream. I did get the mini size because I just want to try it and see what all the hype is about. I also picked up the Sol de Janeiro hand cream. I have about two more uses of my almond hand cream from The Body Shop before it is empty. As someone who loves nail polish and taking pictures of them, a good hand cream is essential. Let’s not forget that I wear nitrile gloves at work all night long. Wearing gloves and using hand sanitizer can be rough.

I picked up the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I have hooded eye lids and shadows crease like mad. I also randomly realized that my eyelids to get oily. I hope this will help.

I didn’t originally think about buying fragrance during the sale. I used to have a real aversion to perfume. And then I found Replica Beach Walk. Since then, I have been trying out some things here and there. The sampler sets that Sephora puts together are a fabulous way to try out some scents. This time around I bought a few roller balls to try. To me, it seems like a big risk buying fragrance over the internet based on just a description and some reviews from other customers. So, let’s look at what I got.

Commodity Gold travel spray. Key Notes: Molten Amber, Vanilla, Creamy Musk

Aerin Amber Musk  travel spray. Notes: Coconut Water, Rose Centifolia, Ambrox, Benzoin, Musk.

Dolce and Gabbana Pour Femme Rollerball. Notes: Neroli, Raspberry, Green Mandarin, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Guimauve, Vanilla, Heliotrope, Sandalwood.

Commodity Velvet travel spray. Key Notes: Roasted Almond, Velvet Rose Petals, Black Amber

So, there you have it. The damage I did this time around. Luckily, it was pay week.

‘Til next time!
